Following the old national road of Chania – Kissamos, 16 km west of Chania, we come across the area of Maleme. It is a beautiful seaside village, written in the pages of the history of modern Greece, due to the fall of the German paratroopers in May 1941, which occupied the military airport. Maleme has a wide sandy beach that provides all the modern amenities for a comfortable stay. There is a significant tourism growth in recent years due to the short distance from the cosmopolitan Platanias which offers a full nightlife.
