Villa Bournella is located in the area of Aghios Markos. Named after the patron saint of the Most Serene Republic of Venice, Agios Markos (one of the oldest villages in Corfu) is at the central part of the island, on the upper side of the internal bay of Corfu, at a distance of approximately 17km (or 20 minutes drive) from Corfu town, the airport and the main port.
The central part of the island offers the balanced mix of luscious green scenery, mountain slopes and sea that is typical of Corfu, as well as a variety of beaches and easy access to the amenities of the local resort-villages. The nearest beach for swimming is only 1.5km or a 5 minute drive away.
Immersed in an olive grove and overlookingthe sea, , the villa can be an ideal base for hiking or trekking explorations of the surrounding landscape. If you love trekking along unique routes on natural mountain slopes, here you will find landscapes with wonderful views and rare flora (eg wild orchids), reaching up to the highest point of Corfu, mountain Pantokrator (914m height). If you are more inclined towards cycling rather than trekking, bicycles can be provided on request. As a matter of fact, cycling can be an ideal way of exploring the area and accessing nearby beaches.
